Poul Henningsen or PH, as he is popularly known, is one of the 20th century's most gifted and most significant designers - not least thanks to his world-famous PH lamps. In this ninth volume in the series on Danish designers, the author and visual artist Erik Steffensen, professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, writes about the Danish architect and cultural writer Poul Henningsen (1894-1967).

Poul Henningsen's universe is characterized by equal parts play and seriousness with language, beauty, and function in everyday life and at the weekend. His design is an expression of a vision of life and light.
